（雇入れ直後） Senior Director, Portfolio Management - GISは、約60億ドル規模のGIS（Gastrointestinal Solutions）事業部において、戦略立案と財務計画をリードし、複数のグローバル事業ユニットを一つの価値創出型投資フレームワークのもとにまとめ上げる重要な役割を担います。
Innovation、新製品開発（NPD）、Sustaining、M&Aにわたる投資戦略と資本配分を一貫して推進し、優先順位の明確化、透明性の高いガバナンス、事業部全体の整合性を実現します。
コーポレート戦略、事業部リーダーシップ、グローバルファイナンスの接点に立ち、戦略的な構想を定量化されたリスク調整後の投資計画へと落とし込みます。限られた経営資源を最大限に活かし、投下資本利益率と成長の両立を目指す、非常にインパクトの大きいポジションです。
市場インサイト、競合分析、投資モデリング、リソース計画などの共通機能も活用しながら、意思決定の質を高め、財務面・戦略面の両方で事業の成果を最大化していきます。
事業部専任のポートフォリオマネジメント責任者として、Division HeadおよびVP Strategic Portfolio Management & Planningと密接に連携し、複雑な多国籍組織における資本効率、リソース最適化、投資の規律ある運用を推進します。
また、最終的な資本配分や優先順位付けの判断が適切に行われるよう支援しながら、短期的な売上目標と長期的なイノベーション投資のバランスを実現します。ROI、NPV、リスク調整後指標、シナリオ別分析などを用いて、治療領域、地域、技術成熟度を横断したポートフォリオを俯瞰し、限られたリソースから最大の価値を生み出します。
具体的には下記です。

１．年間の戦略・投資計画サイクルの推進

事業部の立場から、Innovation、NPD、Sustaining、M&Aにおける各BUの投資を、中長期の成長・収益性目標と結び付ける戦略フレームワークを構築・維持します。
コーポレート基準に沿って、事業部の戦略・財務計画プロセスをリードし、提出資料、予測、事業計画が分析的に十分で、年間SFBPカレンダーと整合するよう管理します。

２．投資ポートフォリオのガバナンス推進

投資の配分状況や成果を可視化し、変更管理の考え方、評価指標、関連データを整備することで、経営層が適切に状況を把握・判断できる体制を構築します。

３．Division Headとの戦略的投資パートナーシップ

リスクとリターンの観点から投資の優先順位を整理し、トレードオフを見極めながら、事業目標に沿った最適な投資判断を支援します。
R&D投資、エンジニアリング能力、資本といった限られたリソースを、戦略的・財務的リターンの高い領域に振り向けることで、最終的な意思決定を後押しします。
短期的な売上達成と長期的なイノベーション投資の両立を図りながら、ROI、NPV、リスク調整後指標を活用して、投資パイプライン全体を的確にマネジメントします。

４．コーポレートと事業部の計画をつなぐ役割

DivisionとCorporate Portfolio Management & Planningの橋渡し役として、プロセス、財務前提、レポート形式が全社基準に沿うよう整えます。
また、SIS（Surgical & Interventional Solutions）事業部のポートフォリオマネジメント担当者とも連携し、事業部横断での整合が必要なテーマに取り組みます。

５．共通機能・支援リソースの活用

戦略、市場インサイト、競合分析、財務モデリング、資料作成などの共通機能を活用し、実行可能な提案やポートフォリオ分析、シナリオ分析を行い、経営判断を支援します。

６．ポートフォリオのパフォーマンス分析

ポートフォリオの進捗や成果をわかりやすく示すダッシュボード、ROI分析、リソース活用レポートを作成し、戦略目標に対する進捗を経営層へ報告します。
実績と計画を継続的に比較しながら、戦略・投資・成果のつながりを明確にします。

７．M&A・事業開発の支援

必要に応じてGMや事業開発担当者と協働し、買収や事業売却の機会を評価し、事業部全体の投資戦略およびリソース計画に組み込みます。

８．戦略・財務規律の徹底

すべての投資案件に対して、高い水準での事業計画の精度、前提条件の妥当性、リスク管理を求め、質の高い意思決定を支えます。

9．経営層へのコミュニケーションと提案力

ポートフォリオ戦略、財務インパクト、シナリオ分析をDivision Head、VP Strategic Portfolio Management & Planning、その他リーダーシップ層へ分かりやすく伝え、複雑な情報を説得力のあるメッセージにまとめます。

10．経営層向け資料の作成

必要に応じて、Division HeadがExecutive Officers、GEC、BOD、投資家、社内外の関係者と対話するための資料を作成します。

11．意思決定権限

ポートフォリオガバナンス、分析、提言を主導しますが、最終的な投資承認はDivision Headおよび全社ガバナンス機関が担います。

Role Overview

(Immediately after hiring) The Senior Director of Portfolio Management-GIS serves as the strategic and financial planning orchestrator of a ~$6 billion GIS (Gastrointestinal Solutions) division, uniting multiple global business units under a single, value-driven investment framework.
This role leads the end-to-end strategy and capital allocation process spanning Innovation, New Product Development (NPD), Sustaining, and M&A to ensure disciplined prioritization, transparent governance, and enterprise alignment across all divisional investments.
Operating at the intersection of corporate strategy, divisional leadership, and global finance, the Senior Director transforms strategic ambition into quantified, risk-adjusted investment plans that maximize return on capital and growth momentum.
Leveraging shared services in market intelligence, competitive analytics, investment modeling, and resource planning, this role elevates decision quality and ensures all investments optimize the division’s financial and strategic performance.
As the division’s dedicated portfolio management leader, the Senior Director partners closely with the Division Head and the VP of Strategic Portfolio Management & Planning to drive capital efficiency, resource optimization, and investment discipline across a complex, multinational organization, while enabling final capital allocation and prioritization decisions by the Division Head and applicable governance bodies.
By applying rigorous analyses for revenue acceleration, margin expansion, ROI, NPV, and scenario-based portfolio modeling, this role converts finite human resources and financial capacity into value creation balancing near-term revenue attainment with long-term innovation and market leadership goals.

Key Responsibilities

1．Orchestrate the Annual Strategy and Investment Planning Cycle
Maintain a clear strategy framework on behalf of the Division that links the collective BU investments in Innovation, NPD, Sustaining, and M&A, to the enterprise’s long-range growth and profitability objectives (connect top-down strategy to the Division).
Coordinate the division’s strategic and financial planning processes in alignment with corporate standards, ensuring submissions, forecasts, and business cases are analytically robust and in line with the annual SFBP calendar.
2．Govern the Investment Portfolio
Establish transparent portfolio of investments governance/change control recommendations, performance metrics, and data - enabling executive leaders to see where money and resources are deployed and what outcomes they drive.
3．Strategic Investment Partnership with Division Head - on risk-return criteria to prioritize investments, manage trade-offs, and maximize impact in line with goals/targets.
The Senior Director should ensure alignment with the Division Head on strategic resource allocation & capital efficiency, ensuring scarce resources (R&D spend, engineering capacity, and capital) are directed toward projects with the highest strategic and financial return, enabling final investment decisions by the Division Head.
This drives a balance of short-term revenue attainment with long-term innovation bets.
Apply ROI, NPV, and risk-adjusted metrics across the full investment pipeline, effectively managing portfolios across therapeutic areas, geographies, and technology maturities.
This should be the most powerful lever for value creation turning limited engineering and capital budgets into outsized returns.
4．Integrate Corporate and Divisional Planning
Serve as the key liaison between the Division and Corporate Portfolio Management & Planning, ensuring all processes, financial assumptions, and reporting formats meet enterprise standards.
Partner with portfolio management colleague for the SIS (Surgical & Interventional Solutions) Division on topics require cross-divisional alignment.
5．Leverage Shared Services / Support utilize shared resources (strategy, market insights, competitive intelligence, finance modeling, presentation creation) to generate actionable recommendations, create portfolio analyses, run portfolio scenario analysis and overall to enable executive decision-making.
6．Drive Portfolio Performance Analytics
Develop and communicate portfolio performance dashboards, ROI analyses, and resource utilization reports that inform leadership on progress against strategic objectives (track actual returns vs. planned outcomes for the total portfolio closing the loop between strategy, investment, and performance).
7．Support M&A and Business Development Activities
Partner with GMs and Business Development colleagues as requested, to evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities, integrating them into the overall divisional investment strategy and resource plan.
8．Ensure Strategic and Financial Discipline
Enforce a high standard of business case rigor, quality of assumptions and risk management across all proposed portfolio investments.
9．Executive Communication and Influence
Present portfolio strategy, financial impact projections, and scenario analyses to the Division Head, VP of Strategic Portfolio Management & Planning, and leadership translating complex data and plans into clear executive narratives.
10．Develop Executive content/materials
Generate materials as needed for the Division Heads to engage with the Executive Officers/GEC, BOD, Investors or internal/general audiences.
11．Decision Rights - Leads portfolio governance, analysis, and recommendations; final investment approvals reside with the Division Head and enterprise governance forums.
