仕事内容講師・教師

J PREP Scholars is seeking a full-time instructor to develop and oversee standardized testing curricula, teach group lessons, and manage part-time instructors. The role requires native-level English proficiency, experience teaching standardized tests, and availability on weekends and evenings. Workdays are 5 days per week including one weekend day, with locations across Tokyo and Kanagawa.

Position Description

  1. Develop and assist with the Scholars department and its standardized testing curricula
  2. Train, observe, and schedule part-time instructors
  3. Develop and oversee curriculum tailored to standardized tests (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, etc.)
  4. Teach group lessons on a regular weekly basis
  5. Grade student assignments
  6. Coordinate and communicate with fellow instructors
  7. Assist with seasonal events

Working conditions

  1. Workdays: 5 days/week, including one weekend day
  2. Hours typically 11:00-7:45 or 11:45-8:30 (including 1-hour break)
  3. Must be available to travel to all our locations
  4. Trainings provided

Locations (Academic Year 2026)

  1. Shibuya, Jiyugaoka, Yotsuya, Kichijoji, Yokohama, Azamino, Myogadani, Seijogakuenmae and Mita
  2. Transportation is reimbursed

  • Possess Native-level English proficiency
  • Have experience teaching standardized tests (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, etc.)
  • Experience teaching in Japan
  • Possess a valid work visa
  • Are available to work on weekends and evenings

  • have experience in supervising instructors and scheduling
  • are professional, flexible, punctual, energetic, and dedicated
  • hold a master’s degree or above
  • are comfortable teaching a wide age group (from elementary to high school students)
  • are comfortable with time-management and following lesson plans
  • are proactive in communicating with supervisors and counterparts
  • hold certifications, such as TEFL, CELTA, TESOL or equivalent
