Course Coordinator

Position Description

1. 1The role is comprised of both specialized duties (~50%) and common duties (~50%).
2. 2Specialized duties include creating and updating high-level content, curriculum, and lesson plans for our shared curriculum under the direction of the Curriculum Manager.
3. 3Specialized duties include proofreading and quality checking content and teaching materials.
4. 4Additional specialized duties may include researching the Japanese entrance-exam system and conducting research on how J PREP can better improve its offerings for senior high school students.
5. 5Additional specialized duties may include analyzing entrance exam trends and offering data-based recommendations on program improvements.
6. 6Additional specialized duties may include developing new course offerings for J PREP’s seasonal sessions.
7. 7Common duties include assisting in monitoring and supervising sites where lessons are held.
8. 8Common duties include teaching approximately six hours a week.
9. 9Common duties include performing quality checks and providing feedback for instructors’ grading of students’ writing.
10. 10Common duties include grading student writings and correcting student work.
11. 11Common duties include substituting classes.

Working Conditions

1. 1~21 working days per month, fewer in February and months with company holidays.
2. 2National holidays are workdays unless they are also designated company holidays.
3. 3Regular days off: one weekend day and one weekday (e.g.: Sun/Mon).
4. 4Work times with 1-hour break: Monday – Saturday: 12:00 – 20:45; Sunday: 9:00 – 17:45.
5. 5Work locations include one or more of the following: Shibuya, Jiyugaoka, Yotsuya, Kichijoji, Yokohama, Myogadani.
6. 6Remote work may be possible several weeks out of the year.
7. 7Some flexibility with the above conditions may be possible.

応募資格（必須）

• at least a three-year bachelor’s degree
• English proficiency
• a valid working visa
• experience teaching high-school-aged students; preferably in Japan. Ideally, this should be solo-teaching experience.
• some understanding of the entrance exam system in Japan or a willingness to learn
• either (1) experience (or an interest) in CLIL methodology and teaching liberal arts subjects or (2) experience teaching test-preparation classes

• those who possess M.A. degrees in linguistics, TESOL, or other related fields
• those with significant experience (3+ years) teaching high-school aged students
• those with experience creating curriculum and content in a team
